Asia Pacific accounts for 70% of global EMS export volumes; strong EMS performance in this region is essential for strengthening global EMS performance.
To tackle this issue, senior EMS managers from 14 operators met in Chengdu, China, in May for an EMS symposium for Asia Pacific. Across two days, participants exchanged insights and explored strategies to improve EMS performance in the region.
Presentations highlighted industry trends, UPU initiatives supporting members, key challenges, and best practices shaping regional success. Discussions reinforced the importance of adaptability and innovation in addressing evolving market demands.
Discussions centred on key priorities: the importance of an EMS service that closely meets the needs of the customers; promoting key trade lanes through targeted marketing efforts; strengthening customer service responsiveness; and improving service quality.
The symposium’s success was reflected in overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants and the Board, underscoring the value of the discussions. Special thanks to China Post for hosting the event and an EMS Cooperative Board meeting, fostering deeper cooperation among EMS operators. Asia Pacific operators left the event with a shared commitment to EMS performance improvement and business growth.
